Ian Weisberg

The Man Behind the Mission

The Ian Weisberg Grant is built upon a foundation of exceptional medical achievement, a passion for innovation, and an unwavering commitment to giving back. Ian Weisberg is not just a name on this award; he is a cardiac electrophysiologist whose decades of work have been dedicated to saving lives, advancing his field, and lifting up the next generation.

His journey in medicine began at Emory University, where he excelled, and led to prestigious fellowships at top institutions. Weisberg didn’t just practice medicine; he shaped it, founding and developing entire electrophysiology programs at hospitals to bring life-saving cardiac care to new communities. His expertise made him a leader, notably as one of Florida’s highest-volume implanters of the Watchman device.

But his legacy extends far beyond the clinic walls. From being twice named “We Care Doctor of the Year” for his local contributions, to volunteering his skills to help design a cardiac operating room in Kenya, Mr. Weisberg has consistently demonstrated that true healthcare knows no borders. This scholarship fund is the culmination of that philosophy—a personal investment in the aspiring students who will carry this torch of excellence, compassion, and innovation forward
